We collaborated with Brody's, a local Mexican restaurant, to update their branding and create an inviting interior design. The vibrant branding featured a cartoon mascot and bold colors, while the interior design incorporated natural tones and rustic textures for an authentic and warm atmosphere. The result is a cohesive brand identity that reflects Brody's messaging and a memorable dining experience for their customers.
The Brody’s logo is a mascot dominant logo depicting a unique cartoon-esque character that utilizes specific attributes commonly associated with Mexican culture, making it easily identifiable as to what services the business offers. The use of the cartoonish mascot coupled with the bright pops of red and yellow instantly makes the logo feel playful and welcoming to all people and age groups. In an effort to add dimension to this ‘fun’ logo, a thick script typeface with a yellow-orange gradient is used as the primary logotype, and is then anchored down by a sturdy and serious serif subscript typeface. The overall feeling of this logo is one of fun and warmth. Keeping the spirit of the original wordmark and illustration, we boosted the image with thoughtful updates to the typography shape and colors of the logo.
Typography is an essential element used in brand identity. It creates a visual image through text and hierarchy. Two main typefaces and one accent typeface is used in partnership to create a strong and cohesive brand for Brody’s. Style, size, weight, and typography indicate the importance of messages that are being relayed through the Brand. All branded communications should have a clear title, header, and body text.
Colors and their consistent use in the Brody’s brand is a vital part of their visual identity. Brody's color palette consist of four core colors, six secondary colors, a scale of neutrals and three textures. The core colors can be used interchangeably in all forms of communication while the secondary and neutral colors are to be used sparingly as accents to the primary palette.
